If something happens after hours.
For chest pain, difficulty breathing, or heavy bleeding — call 911.
Do not wait for the practice line. Time matters more than protocol.
For post-procedure questions outside office hours, call the practice number. The answering service pages the on-call clinician for surgical issues. Expect a callback within an hour for urgent concerns.
For specific thresholds — fever, bleeding, sudden swelling — see the recovery page. Those thresholds are written down so you don't have to guess at 2 AM.
What not to send
Three things to skip in this form.
- Detailed medical history. A few sentences orienting us is plenty. The full history is gathered securely at consultation.
- Photographs of active disease. The contact form is not encrypted for PHI. After scheduling we send a secure intake link for any imagery.
- Insurance ID numbers, SSNs, or DOB. Those are collected through secure channels, never through a web form.

- Dermatology and primary care referrals are fast-tracked. Fax or call the main line and ask for the referral coordinator. Operative reports return to your office within five business days.
